On Sunday, I performed my first weddding (more on that later).
Yesterday I went to a celebration of life for a family member.
Two days. Many reflections.
The memorial service was wonderful. Lots of positive reflections on someone I had known for nearly two decades. You can say that some people teach you how to live, he taught us how to die. He called his cancer a wonderful gift. It gave him focus, purpose and peace.
Now on Sunday I had the chance to perform my first marriage ceremony. Earlier I had gone online to become ordained by the Universal Life Church. The online process qualifies me to legally perform ceremonies. A friend asked me to conduct her wedding. I liked it a lot.
Last November I created a mission statement for myself. It said,
I want to:
make a difference in people's lives;
generate energy;
generate imagination;
generate unity
inspire joy; and
create laughter.
Sunday came damn close to a grand slam.
