Some very progressive thinkers in Ohio
Campaign 2008 comes to Cincinnati and just eight days now before the Presidential Primary in Ohio, Cincinnati's Mayor has announced his support will go to Illinois Senator Barack Obama.13,000 Obama cheered and clapped this afternoon at a rally at the University of Cincinnati where Mayor Mark Mallory announced his decision to back Obama. Mallory is a Democratic National Convention superdelegate, a role that lets him cast a vote independent of what primary voters decide in Ohio on March 4.
Update on Arlington Mayor
Arlington mayor who made a splash with racy photos is recalled
February 26, 2008 08:06AM
The saga of the Arlington mayor who posted photos of herself clad shirtless and wearing a bra took another turn Monday.
Residents late Monday narrowly voted - 142 to 139 - to recall Carmen Kontur-Gronquist who found herself in the national spotlight after posting the images on her Myspace page. The recall takes effect today, Arlington city officials said.
(The pix above of course is former Portland Mayor Bud Clark whose poster sales raised funds for charity.)

Memo at work today-"if I feel I need deodorant"???
Feb. 5, 2008
To: All Building employees
From: Building management
Building management is receiving complaints from staff about the abundance of scented cosmetics in the building.
Some people are severely allergic to fragrances used in cosmetics: men's and women's colognes, aftershave, lotion, mousse, hair spray and deodorants.
Others are allergic to fresh flowers, and this is bound to become an issue with Valentine's Day coming up soon.
Because air circulates freely in the building, fragrances and flowers in your area can affect many others. Even those not allergic can be overwhelmed by the proliferation of fragrances.
In today's workplace, refraining from using perfume, cologne and aftershave demonstrates our professionalism and respect for your coworkers. If you feel you need hairspray, deodorant or lotion, please choose an unscented variety. If you receive flowers at work, at the end of the day please take them home to enjoy them.
Thank you for your consideration.
